Greetings and good health!

With the Robin Hood Springtime Festival nigh approaching, Valos and I have been madly dashing about, making preparations. This includes upgrades to our tent, but we wouldst do well not to forget Valos' hard work expanding our inventory too!
Dragonsbane Staff
Valos enjoys scaring children in the park
With that said, we wish to introduce ye to the latest addition to our staff selection: Dragonsbane! Whence Valos uprooted this striking piece, it had been growing nearly horizontally in the center of a cluster of large boulders. This gave the roots their fascinating gnarled, upright appearance.  It bears a close resemblance to the hand of a dragon, no? Quite right, we thought so as well!

The wood proved too soft to carve, so our ever resourceful craftsman attached laser quartz to each "finger", creating fearsome claws. He also carved the base of the head to resemble tattered skin, completing the look.

Though we shall be putting this piece on our website, it shall of course be making the travel to faire with us. Ye are quite welcome to stop by and have a peek at it, but beware - the claws are quite fragile, so care must be taken when handling it.

We eagerly await faire time, and sincerely hope to see ye there anon!

Fare thee well,
Naomi

Greetings and good health!

We've a wondrous announcement to make to all our patrons. I had originally intended to wait, but I never WAS good at keeping secrets.

This spring and summer we shall be vendors for not one, but TWO renaissance faires. From late April through May we shall tirelessly lug our staves and other magical items to the Connecticut Renaissance Faire's Robin Hood Springtime Festival; then, from June to early July ye can find us at the fantastical Midsummer Fantasy Renaissance Faire.

Best of all, unlike last year where we could only set up shop for one weekend, we shall be at the faires for their entire durations. For more details, please see our calendar.

I shall do well to keep ONE small secret, however. But since I be a fair maiden, I shall give ye a hint: our booth will transport you to an exotic place! Save for our classic Renniewoods sign, ye may scarcely recognize our booth this year. We can hardly wait for ye to see it!!!

FAIRE thee well (ah ha, get it? *ahem* I know, I'm as ashamed as you are)
Naomi

Greetings and good health!

Many warm thanks to all those who bid us welcome during our renaissance faire vending debut at the Connecticut Renaissance Faire this past weekend!! It was a pleasure meeting patrons and fellow merchants alike, and especially lovely to keep shop next to the lovely and talented people at Hennadancer.

However, since it seems there were some who were slightly disappointed we were only appearing for one weekend, we'd like to offer a token of appreciation: for those of ye who wished to purchase something at a later date, we shall be offering faire prices online until the end of the faire, October 24. That's right, ye heard me! Faire prices online until October 24!!*

You're welcome!
-Naomi

Hear ye, hear ye!

We here at Renniewoods have been accepted for the opening weekend at the Connecticut Renaissance Faire!  We are very happy to take our show on the road, even if it is only a short distance away.  We will be there the weekend of September 25th and 26th.  And for those who follow along with our posts, mention the website for an extra surprise while at faire.

I have been working very hard to bring about some new products for the faire, and shall bring a large selection with us for some extra fun.  As this be our first opportunity to vend at a faire, we are still putting the pieces together, but we shall do our best.  We hope you will all be able to stop by to at least say hello, and peruse our products.

Mayhap best of all, we've a new line of child-friendly products making their debut at the faire, so be sure to bring your little ones with ye. For any young'uns pining for a "Harry Potter" wand of their own, the search shall end at our booth!

I shall be seeing ye all anon,
Valos

Greetings and good health!

I dearly hope this past Independence Day has found ye well. In faith, 'tis a favorite holiday of mine - merriment, carousing with friends with ale mug in hand, and best of all...colorful explosions in the sky!

Valos made a friend!
Now that we've recovered from such a rousing festival, Valos and I are scheming to make our way to Southern Connecticut's Midsummer Magick Faire!

We know not which weekend we shall attend at present, so prithee check back for an official announcement!

Fare thee well,
Naomi

Greetings and good health!

By an unexpected stroke of luck, Valos and I attended the Southern Connecticut Renaissance Faire yesterday. 'Twas our first of the season, and what a merry occasion it was - save for the dappled showers and sunburn, of course.

A warm thanks to all who stopped to have a word with us throughout our meanderings, your kind words about Valos' work were humbling.

Valos and I would also like to express special thanks to the lovely ladies at The Catskill Soap Company for their sage council and warm company! Prithee take a peek at their website, kind folks; their soaps and incense smell so heavenly, Valos had to forcibly drag me away from their tent before I tried bartering my left kidney for half their inventory - I kid ye not!

We shall attend more faires anon, though at present we've no definite plans. Stay tuned, for I shall announce our plans as they become definite!

Fare thee well,
Naomi

Greetings and good health!

With faire season nigh two months hence, we at Renniewoods are working tirelessly to ensure our faire wares are in tip top shape. This entails dragging old dark and dreary outside, finished staffs in one hand, camera in the other.

To the left is our featured piece of the week. As a water-aligned mage, the natural waves in this black birch inspired Valos to incorporate a bit of the sea into his design. After a fruitful walk along a deserted beach on a biting winter day, we had just the elements we needed for decorating the intricate staff head.

ocean staff
Fiery coral seems to grow out of nooks and crannies in the curvy staff head, while seashells rest along gentle slopes. Even the body has been sanded and coated to a smooth, glossy sheen, giving one the impression of gliding their hand over a water-slick surface. Though I am undeniably earthbound (as if being an herbalist didn't give it away), I fear I may be sad to see this piece go once some lucky faire-goer decides to take it home.

We have a lineup of several other finished staves, though you fine folks will need to come back next week for another peek.

Fare thee well,
Naomi
